Chapter 15 - Hide N Seek

I shoot off an email to the investors and cc the brothers. My arms stretch over my head and I let out a huge yawn. It's been a long day of planning and working the spreadsheets. I can't believe how much I've accomplished today after all the craziness this morning…and I'm not talking about my steamy shower scene either.

The men at TNT called to inform me that they have decided to help me even further by becoming investors in this project. They're not just loaning me the money anymore. I'm getting my own personal budget and they're even helping with upgrades to the hotel. Creed and I were both shocked at the lengths the guys are willing to go to help me for Lex. I promised them repeatedly that I would prove myself worthy of their money. Lake even said they'll tell Lex soon so I can talk to her about it. Anthony's cousin Cash will be sending over the contracts tomorrow. As soon as they're signed, the funds will be available, and I can start buying supplies.

My coffee is gone and has been for awhile but I'm kinda trapped in here. I should've never agreed to take a formal office by the others. Unfortunately, at the time, it seemed like a good idea to have close access to the hotel's resources. The massive floor I've been given was efficient enough to set up shop but when Cristina came to show me my new office, I just went with her. Now if I ask to move, the brothers might get upset. I look at the clock and decide I should start getting ready for dinner. I really want to do my makeup tonight and wear something cute.

After saving the document I'm working on, I hit print and stand up, dreading the next step. I open the door and peek out quickly. Thankfully, I don't see anyone or, more importantly, the one person that won't leave me alone. I close the door quietly and head to the printer.

"I found those notebooks you wanted. Why do you keep asking Linc and Cristina to help you? I already told you, I'm only a phone call away." Tiffany's angry voice comes from behind me.

My sigh isn't dramatic because this woman is getting on my nerves. She keeps trying to micromanage me and I'm freaking out. Our jobs have nothing to do with each other. I keep walking trying to cool down before I tell her how I feel. She's trying to bust my balls and throw her weight around like she's my boss. I grab my papers, glancing at them briefly. Then I reluctantly spin and face her.

"I know Tiffany, but you are an accountant here and Cristina is the office manager. She's supposed to help me, not you. As far as Lincoln is concerned, my partner has requested that I copy him on all emails. You don't outweigh him." I know my irritation is showing because her eyes narrow.
